Deja Vu

Considering the events of Cinco De Mayo, one would think that we learned something. Here's what happened Friday night:

Me: "I'm not in the mood to drink or stay out too late tonight, not after last Friday."
Jeremy: "Me either..."
(3:30 in the morning)
Me: "Well, we didn't do anything like we said we were going to, did we?"

That about sums it up. There were drinks and fun, much like the events of a week ago, minus one. I can't really recall how much was consumed that night, but of the 4 people that stuck with SoCo kamikazes, there were at least 32. It was summed up best with this line from an email today:

I didn't tell anyone to drink shots 2 at a time.

I'm not in the mood to drink or stay out too late this Friday night...

Cinco De Mayo: The Aftermath

4 things I will never do in the same 18 hour period of time again, ever: work out, drink, sleep 5 hours, help someone move from a 5th floor apartment. As the saying goes, Saturday morning I felt like I had been dragged up a proverbial flight of stairs and dropped back down...twice...and I still had the moving to look forward to.

It was fun though, albeit random. The original cinco de mayo plans began to fall apart exactly 5 minutes before they even began to coalesce, so we did what we are best at: improvising. We had a blast though. There were drinks, then there was laughter....then there were more drinks, followed by a considerable amount of stumbling. After that, there was a security checkpoint, complete with a pat down, pole dancing, a wet T-shirt contest, more drinks, and a pool table, where I was part of a winning team and I didn't get a single billiard anywhere close to a hole. Apparently after I left, there were more drinks, but I don't think I could have hung around to see it.

By Saturday evening, it was time for something less intrusive to our health, so we did what we've done many times before: meet, gawk at Oblivion for 10-15 minutes, eat, watch a movie, get coffee. I actually ordered decaf that night, but in retrospect, I don't think a solid gram or two of caffeine in my system would have kept me from sleeping like a rock that night. I went to sleep at 12 and didn't move until 10 Sunday morning..but I felt like a million bucks yesterday.

Enough about my weekend...I'm sure there are more interesting things to talk about.

Cinco De Mayo

...or as we know it: another excuse to go to a Mexican restaurant, eat lots of chips and salsa, wear a sombrero, and drink too many margaritas. Not that there's anything wrong with any combination of those 4 things. Tonight should be fun, we are doing those exact 4 things while watching/listening to an 80s band. Let's recap for those that didn't get that joke the first time through: mexican restaurant, 80s band. How many margaritas will it take for that to make sense? Of course, the answer is 1 if they do it right (most mexican places do). Maybe the band will at least wear sombreros to make things feel a little more normal, or play some heavy metal mariachi music. I'd pay upwards of $3.50 to see that.

This past weekend, while visiting a friend in Florida, I made an interesting discovery in a Publix restaurant that should make lovers of energy drinks everywhere join hands in song: they now sell Red Bull in 12 packs. Now if they would start selling Sobe No Fear (my personal favorite) in 12 packs, I might be in trouble...but damn would that be a fun, sleepless 2 weeks. Also worth mentioning is that in Florida, they sell Mountain Dew Amps in a 16 oz can. Yes, moutain dew + energy drink + double size (did I mention we didn't sleep much this past weekend??).

So, to close a loose end that I might have left open a few posts back about being The Punisher at Dragoncon this year...I've decided to give it a try. Now I'm trying to put on some muscle as phase II of my New Years resolution (yeah, I expect to get funny looks from people about that phrase). I'm eating at least 250 g of protein a day, which makes it difficult to find myself hungry when the next meal time comes around.

We shall see how this goes...

Can someone please speed up time for me???

I'm still alive!

There Mike, my blog is updated, are you happy? :)

I'm still alive here, things have felt busy lately, but it's all good. Spring has sprung, and so have my allergies...thank God for Claritin D.

I bought a new guitar recently, which was/is really cool. It wasn't a "planned" purchase in the purest sense of the word so much as it was a I-was-in-the-market-for-one-and-got-a-good-offer purchase. I will post pictures as soon as I {inside joke} get my camera back. {/inside joke}

Oh yeah, Christie says I can't go shopping with you anymore, Jeremy! :P

Now the 2 events to put on the schedule sometime are: 1) jam, 2) set up Neverwinter Nights LAN game.

Now would be a good time to increase the length of the day by 8 hours...
