Still Alive

Still alive and kicking (unlike my great great grandmother, who is alive but only kicking with one leg because of the stroke a few years back...just kidding!)

I figure I might as well dust this Blog off and update it a little more often, so here's a recap of recent weeks:

  • We are getting a dog next summer, a Pug to be exact. We plan on making it a house dog, so that should be tons of fun. :)
  • We are shopping for a 7.1 home theater system, mostly because it's cool, and partly because we KNOW the lady next door would love to have our sub woofer rattle the windows in her living room (at the very least it would give her a legitimate reason to write a letter to the home owner's association, plus it would give her something to talk to her friends about when they all get together to play bingo, or whatever you play when you get that age). The next question becomes whether or not we can coerce friends with food and drink in exchange for helping us install it.
  • We are also looking for a 50" or 55" HDTV...yeah, we dream big. Well, actually "looking for" is not exactly the phrase; "looking at" would be more appropriate. We know what we want, we are just "looking for" the price to come down just a little more, since it's slightly more expensive than the dog (extreme emphasis placed on the word slightly).
  • We are going to get a Nintendo Wii soon (and hope there is not a freak accident involving a Wiimote being thrown through a 50" TV).
  • I have the Most Awesome Computer Ever (tm) on my wish list at Newegg.com :)

I'm not quite so sure that Santa could fit all of this in his sleigh this Christmas.

I found out that I get to visit Chicago in early December for a training class. I had a friend inform me that when he visited Chicago in December of last year, the average temperature for the week was 7 (yes that's a single digit) and that it snowed about 3 feet. SEVEN should never be the temperature...anywhere.
